Countdown to the 2016 Apogee Awards: CMO honorees

The 2016 SFBW Apogee Awards are quickly approaching, only days until the celebration.

On Oct. 27, at the NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale, SFBW magazine will honor a small group of individuals in South Florida whose dedication to their occupation, their industries and communities deserves particular recognition.

Here are the biographies of the Chief Marketing Officer honorees

CMO honoree for Miami-Dade: Paula Renaldo, The Keyes Company

Paula Renaldo

With experience in strategic planning, creative strategy, graphic design direction, public relations and event production, Renaldo’s fingerprints can be found on many of her company’s successes since joining in 2008. Originally the marketing director, she helped to drive the company’s marketing and advertising to new levels as its youngest CMO. She led a full rebranding of the 90-year-old organization from 2014 to 2016.

She has been included among the 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County, received the 2015 RISMedia Tech Titan Award on behalf of The Keyes Company, and was featured on QuantumDigital’s “The Real Estate Dish” podcast.

She lives in Broward County with her husband and son, both named Anthony, and a fluffy Morkie named Lily.

CMO honoree for Broward: Marc Cannon, AutoNation

Marc Cannon

Cannon oversees the company’s marketing, advertising, communications, community affairs and public policy. He has more than 30 years of executive-level experience in automotive industry communications, branding, advertising and public policy. He directs the company’s communications with investors, industry, media and the marketplace.

Before joining AutoNation, Cannon was CMO and senior vice president of marketing for Blue Dot Services, a national network of home repair and services contractors. He previously was vice president of communications for Republic Industries, vice president of marketing, advertising and communications for AutoNation USA, and vice president of advertising for Alamo Rent A Car. While at Alamo, he was part of the team that grew the company from 15 locations to more than 100 locations nationwide and into Europe.

He has a bachelor’s degree in public affairs from the University of Miami and is a member of the Arthur Page Society, the most distinguished honor society in the communications industry. He also serves on the University of Florida Public Relations Advisory Council.

CMO honoree for Palm Beach: Margie Kupfer, 3Cinteractive

Margie Kupfer

As vice president of marketing, Kupfer develops the marketing strategies that drive growth and support her company’s leadership position in mobile marketing services.

These responsibilities include lead generation, brand positioning, product marketing, public relations and event management. She works directly with sales and business development to create inspiring content, proposals and relationships with clients and the industry.

She is an established marketing leader with more than 20 years’ experience, with strengths in strategic planning, retail advertising process, integration, execution and management.

Before to joining 3Cinteractive, Margie was the vice president of marketing at Lord & Taylor, responsible for directing brand strategy and activation to support corporate goals and maximize advertising effectiveness across print and digital media channels. These strategies included both customer retention and loyalty, as well as customer acquisition and branding.
