Play, sail, dine, swim, work out and socialize on the Intracoastal: That’s the South Florida lifestyle, epitomized by Lauderdale Yacht Club. And it just got better: Fort Lauderdale-based Miller Construction announced its completion of a clubhouse for Lauderdale Yacht Club.
The two-story, 36,941-square-foot project replaces the 1950s-era clubhouse and building and was designed by Spina O’Rourke Architects, known for projects such as Jupiter Yacht Club and PGA Commons in Palm Beach Gardens. The project team included Flynn Engineering, KAMM and Bliss & Nyitray, Inc.
The clubhouse, at 1725 SE 12 St., features an expandable dining room on the ground floor, which also contains the Abenaki Lounge, Cypress Bar and the wine room. Spaces on the second floor include Burgee Bar, the Commodore Room and the New River Room. Covered and uncovered terraces are enhanced by Solar Innovation glass door track systems between the terraces.
