The South Florida Wildlife Center (SFWC) has helped protect local wildlife by providing veterinary service, rehabilitative care, community education and conservation programs for over 50 years. Its decades-long commitment to the wildlife community was recently recognized after being named a “2021 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by Great Nonprofits, which reviews, rates and recommends charities and nonprofits.
“It is an honor to be named a 2021 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” says Alessandra Medri, Executive Director of SFWC. “We are grateful to our community for recognizing us for the lifesaving work we perform each day. Thanks to our friends, donors and volunteers for helping us to continue to serve as a vital resource for this community.”
Each year, the SFWC oversees and provides care for over 12,000 wildlife patients from 250 species, which are released to their natural habitat after rehabilitation.
“The South Florida Wildlife Center is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” says Perla Ni, CEO of Great Nonprofits. “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with The South Florida Wildlife Center.”
