As the cruise industry returns to its normal operations with the lifting of COVID restrictions, two Holland American Line cruise ships recently embarked on their first Grand World Voyage since the cruise industry pause. Zuiderdam and Volendam left Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on the same day, with Zuiderdam on a 128-day journey circumnavigating the globe and Volendam taking a 74-day South America/Antarctica voyage. The two itineraries will combine for 202 days visiting 43 countries and 95 ports of call before returning to Fort Lauderdale.
“With overnight stays in Panama, French Polynesia, Australia, South Africa and the Netherlands, this itinerary truly lives up to the name grand,” Gus Antorcha says, president of Holland America Line. “This is our first world cruise since before the industry pause, and our teams and guests have been planning for this day for a long time.”
