Tropical Financial Becomes Official Credit Union of the Florida Panthers

Tropical Financial recently partnered with the Florida Panthers to serve as their “Official Credit Union” for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 National Hockey League seasons. The new partnership will enable Tropical Financial to feature its branding throughout FLA Live Arena in Sunrise and during broadcasts. Tropical Financial will be the presenting sponsor of the team’s starting lineup in the arena and on social media. It will also jointly participate in local charitable and community events with the Panthers.

“From our senior leadership to our credit union membership, we are proud to partner with the Florida Panthers,” Rick Shaw says, president and CEO of Tropical Financial. “We will have a unique opportunity to share our story with Panthers fans and deepen our commitment to the local community.”

Tropical Financial holds $1 billion in assets, making it one of the largest not-for-profit credit unions based in South Florida. It serves nearly 70,000 members in nine counties, with most living and working in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. It focuses on providing traditional and digital banking products and services and is collectively owned by its members, not profit-seeking shareholders.

“Tropical Financial has an excellent reputation in Florida helping members achieve their financial goals and we are thrilled to have them as our ‘Official Credit Union,” Florida Panthers Chief Revenue Officer Shawn Thornton says.
