Major League Baseball Star Max Scherzer Purchases Luxury Jupiter Estate

Lori Schacter of Illustrated Properties closed the nearly $18 million sale of a waterfront estate in Jupiter’s exclusive Admirals Cove community purchased by Major League Baseball player Max Scherzer. Schacter successfully listed the corner lot at 217 Commodore Drive and secured a sale close to the property’s asking price.

Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series champion who currently pitches for the New York Mets, and his wife, Erica, own another high-end home on Commodore Drive. Admirals Cove and other private club communities in northern Palm Beach County are extremely popular with professional athletes and other high-profile individuals due to the combination of water, privacy, golf, tennis and other amenities.

Schacter is based in Illustrated’s Jupiter office at 300 W. Indiantown Road and has closed over $1 billion in sales while at the firm. She emphasized the potential to renovate the existing home or build a brand-new dream compound when marketing 217 Commodore Drive.

“It is exciting to complete the sale of Commodore Island’s premier corner point lot,” Schacter says. “I was able to leverage my relationships, market knowledge and Illustrated’s unparalleled marketing platform and global network to achieve an optimal result for the seller.”

With direct Intracoastal Waterway views, the more than half-acre 217 Commodore Road property is one of the community’s most extensive water frontage lots. The property’s 7,220-square-foot home has five bedrooms, seven-and-a-half bathrooms, an elevator, a full-house generator and a guest house. It also features a resort-style pool facing the Intracoastal and large entertaining loggias.

“We are extremely proud of Lori’s success and how she navigated this transaction for her sellers,” Illustrated Properties President Daniel Dennis says. “Her experience and knowledge of the ever-changing luxury market is a tremendous asset to both our company as well as our clients.”

Holly Meyer Lucas of Compass represented the buyers.

One of the few country club communities with its own marina, Admirals Cove provides residents access to 45 holes of golf, a tennis center, a yacht club, a kids’ program and five restaurants.
