The downtown Miami area is set to welcome its newest addition in Fall 2023 as Breakwater Hospitality prepares to unveil its 11th property. The group, known for its iconic South Florida entertainment and experiential venues such as The Wharf, Rivertail, Regatta, and more, will establish its corporate offices there.
The street-level space was initially meant to be a fancy restaurant and has now been repurposed for the hospitality group and was designed by the interior architects at Miami-based Studio Rodrigo Buelvas. The space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views of the Miami River. The Breakwater’s wave logo and blue brand color were the primary sources of inspiration for the design team, which aimed to highlight the synergy between the brand and its team. As a result, they incorporated wave patterns throughout the space’s architectural elements, creating a natural and intuitive circulation throughout the interconnected areas. Moreover, the shape of the building itself was designed to ensure a fluid circulation for guests who enter at the “crest” of the wave shape and move through the flexible and interconnected spaces.
As guests step inside, they will be greeted by a warm welcome lounge and bar area that perfectly sets the tone for the incredible hospitality that Breakwater is known for. The bar doubles as a laboratory where talented cocktail artists can experiment and create new drinks and develop menus for various food and beverage concepts and private events. The room is divided by wave-like louvers that lead to flexible meeting rooms and collaborative workstations, creating a space where people can connect and collaborate. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide views of the water and shoreline and allow natural light to flood the interior space.
Breakwater Hospitality Group, which was established in 2018 by Alex Mantecon and Emi Guerra, has evolved into a multi-concept Food and Beverage organization that transforms distinctive one-of-a-kind spaces into unforgettable locations, community social hubs, entertainment, and event venues and memorable groundbreaking experiences. Each location focuses on top-quality beverages and cuisine, with signature menus vital to the company’s brand. Breakwater’s concepts have become some of the most sought-after entertainment venues in the Miami area.
“Our company headquarters needed to be a true hospitality space, where our team synergy is on display and where clients can feel that energy and participate in the collaboration and innovation,” Mantecon says. “The interior design by Studio Rodrigo Buelvas truly reflects that energy, and we’re excited to welcome clients into our new space.”
Once finished, Breakwater Hospitality Group plans to invite guests to their company headquarters to actively participate in developing concepts and creativity and showcase the brand’s and team’s values.
“This is more than corporate offices and meeting spaces, this is a hospitality venue where all the team’s creative ideas and dreams become reality,” Buelvas says. “We designed the space to inspire that creativity and reflect the brand ethos, promote creativity and truly be a physical embodiment of the Breakwater Hospitality brand.”
