Amerant Bank Continues Growth With Opening of Its First Banking Center in Tampa

The Miami-based community bank also recently opened a Fort Lauderdale branch off Las Olas Boulevard.

Amerant Bank recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its inaugural banking center in Tampa Bay’s Westshore Business District. This strategically positioned branch, just a short 10-minute drive from Tampa International Airport, occupies a spacious 2,700-square-foot space on the first floor of the Urban Centre Building at 4830 W. Kennedy Blvd.

Jerry Plush, Chairman and CEO of Amerant, attended the grand opening reception along with several bank executives, including Maria Olivera, SVP and Community Relations Director, who served as the emcee. Distinguished guests and speakers at the event included Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan, and Michael Maurino, Executive Director of the Westshore Alliance.

“The opening of our inaugural Tampa banking center symbolizes our commitment to expanding our footprint in the Greater Tampa area and reinforces our mission to deliver superior support and service to our valued clients in the communities we serve,” Plush says. “Our growing team in Tampa is dedicated to fostering enduring banking relationships and solidifying our presence in this dynamic community.”

Amerant Bank’s Tampa branch, under the leadership of Julia Aguilar, FVP and Regional Sales Manager, will provide a comprehensive range of tailored banking services for individuals and businesses. These include private client services, commercial banking, and a host of other services designed to meet the unique needs of our Tampa Bay clients. The expansion aligns with Amerant Bank’s overall strategy to enhance its presence in central and south Florida to better address the needs of key markets. It also complements the recent opening of the regional corporate office in Tampa’s Westshore district, situated within the same building as Amerant Bank’s new banking center.

After entering the Tampa Bay market, Amerant Bank has grown tremendously, expanding its team with skilled local professionals in commercial banking, personal banking, residential mortgage lending, private client banking, and SBA lending services.
