Broward Health Boosts Training with $500K Upgrade

Broward Health Levels Up to Next-Gen Simulation Center

At Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, hands-on training just got a high-tech boost.

Thanks to a $500,000 gift from the Broward Health Foundation, the health system has transformed its Simulation and Learning Center into a cutting-edge hub for clinical education—now officially renamed in honor of the foundation’s support. The investment brings in state-of-the-art patient simulators—three adult, one pediatric, and one neonatal—designed to replicate real-world medical scenarios with striking realism. These advanced tools allow healthcare professionals to hone their skills in a controlled, risk-free environment.

For nurses, physicians, and clinical staff across Broward Health’s expansive network—including four hospitals, outpatient clinics, and physician groups—this upgrade means sharper skills, faster response times, and better outcomes for patients across South Florida.

“I am incredibly proud to see our campus serve as the home of such an advanced, transformational learning environment,” said Eileen Manniste, Chief Nursing Officer at Broward Health North. “This investment elevates the training available to our frontline teams and improves care across the board.”

The upgraded center supports a wide range of programs—from nursing orientation for recent grads to advanced simulation for emergency and critical care staff. It also includes specialty training for neonatal and pediatric care, as well as progressive care coursework in collaboration with Broward College, all aligned with safety and regulatory goals.

“This is the kind of innovation that ripples outward,” added Don Eachus, President of the Broward Health Foundation. “By investing in education and technology, we’re strengthening the system for everyone—patients, providers, and the broader community.”

With more than 11,000 employees and physicians, Broward Health ranks among the 10 largest public health systems in the U.S. This latest investment is more than a tech upgrade—it’s a commitment to exceptional care, continuous learning, and a healthier future for South Florida.
