The annual “Breakfast for Champions of the Homeless” fundraiser held earlier this month at the Broward Partnership Central Homeless Assistance Center in Fort Lauderdale kicked off the holiday giving season. Over the last 23 years, the event has raised more than $1.5 million to assist men, women, and families with children facing homelessness regain their stability by providing them with health care, employment, and secure housing.
Tom Campbell, the event emcee and COO of Broward Partnership, introduced the group of celebrity waiters featuring some of Broward County’s most prominent and influential community leaders, including Florida State Representative Chip LaMarca, Broward County Mayor Nan Rich, Broward County Commissioner Lamar P. Fisher, Sheriff Gregory Tony, Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, Pompano Beach Commissioner Rhonda Sigerson-Eaton, Gregg Chavarria, Elliot Borkson, Esq., Dodie Keith, Kim Sarni, Jean McIntyre, Georgie Brown, Kenneth Jones, Jennifer Drake, Esq., Maggie Gunther, Brian Huseman, Angelica Santibanez, Ashley Boxer, Don King, Dan Lindblade, Keneth Gordon, Esq., Dana Cahn Gordon, Earl Bosworth, Heiko Dobrikow, Carol Hylton, Mitch Rosenstein, Pedro Gassant, Esq., Janna Lhota, Esq., and Juan Saavedra.
The Celebrity Waiters creatively decorated the tables at the event. South Florida Business & Wealth won the Best Decorated Table award, while Amazon received recognition for having the most beautifully decorated table for featuring items directly benefiting the center’s clients.
Broward Partnership is a nonprofit organization serving as the largest comprehensive homeless services provider in Broward County. The organization manages the Central Homeless Assistance Center in Fort Lauderdale and the North Homeless Assistance Center in Pompano Beach.
