Diplomat Beach Resort Plans to Rebrand as Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort

Many celebrities, including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Liza Minelli and Jay Leno, have all frequented the property over the years.

One of South Florida’s most celebrated beachfront landmarks is currently undergoing major renovations as part of a rebranding effort. The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood will be transformed and renamed Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort. With its breathtaking ocean and Intracoastal views and its prime location between two international airports in the popular Miami and Fort Lauderdale markets, The Diplomat has been a favored destination for locals and visitors for many years.

The resort’s ambitious vision, overseen by UBS Asset Management’s real estate business and Trinity Real Estate Investments, seeks to revive the property’s former splendor and exotic charm, catering to the needs of contemporary business, leisure and group travelers. This endeavor aims to set a fresh benchmark for accessible luxury in South Florida.

“We can’t wait to share our transformation with both new and long-time guests,” General Manager Dean Lane says. “It really is incredible how all the changes balance the history and beauty of this special place with all of these luxurious touches. The founders of the property called it a ‘one-stop paradise’ decades ago — and I think we’re definitely living into that vision.”

The major change involves transitioning to the new Signia by Hilton brand. This brand aims to bring sophistication to every stay, offering a vibrant atmosphere, cosmopolitan amenities, personalized service and hosting the world’s best and most demanding meetings and events. The property is just the fourth in the U.S. to adopt the Signia name, following Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek (July 2021), Signia by Hilton San Jose (April 2022) and Signia by Hilton Atlanta Georgia World Congress Center (January 2024).

The transformation of this iconic destination goes beyond just a name change. The 36-story, 1,000-room hotel tower, along with its full-service spa and expansive oceanfront conference center, is being upgraded with beautifully furnished public spaces, lush exotic plantings and a variety of improved amenities, bars and dining experiences.

The resort will enhance its already impressive event and meeting services. These upgrades will encompass refreshed interiors, modernized furnishings, and improved banquet and catering offerings. Boasting over 200,000 square feet of versatile event space, which includes grand ballrooms, scenic beachfront terraces, and the newly introduced Club Signia featuring priority services, exclusive privileges, and private access, The Diplomat Beach Resort is poised to set new standards for luxury gatherings by the coast.

It will add a spacious oceanfront event terrace that complements its exceptional meeting spaces. This new event space features paved and turf flooring, shade structures and state-of-the-art infrastructure, making it perfect for various occasions throughout the year. Additionally, a new VIP Pool Deck will provide intimate sea-level outings next to the revamped outdoor patio at Point Royal restaurant, offering an inspiring oceanfront setting for more intimate dining experiences or smaller events.

The event spaces are versatile and come with full service, featuring four grand ballrooms, a 50,000-square-foot Great Hall with an open-air terrace, 39 breakout rooms and other flexible meeting venues. The resort will also offer seven fully serviced outdoor terraces with stunning beachfront and Intracoastal views. The new South Palm Terrace, which connects the hotel to the conference center, showcases the breathtaking vista that makes The Diplomat a top choice for groups across the Americas and Europe.

Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort is at 3555 South Ocean Dr. in Hollywood Beach. For more information and reservations, please visit diplomatresort.com. For more news about Signia by Hilton, please visit stories.hilton.com.

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.
