Gulf Building LLC Completes New YMCA Building in Fort Lauderdale

Gulf Building LLCĀ completed construction of the new L.A. Lee YMCA Mizell Community Center for YMCA of South Florida at 1409 NW Sistrunk Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. The four-story, 70,000-square-foot mixed-use building, includes ground-floor stores along Sistrunk Boulevard, an outdoor swimming pool for community swim lessons and a rooftop terrace. The building’s second and third floors are dedicated to wellness and fitness activities, featuring an indoor basketball court and gymnasium, locker rooms, a black-box theater, a youth zone, offices and support space. Broward College will use the fourth floor for classrooms, labs, and meeting spaces that promote educational goals, including general academic development degrees and college-entry preparation.

Gulf Building’s past renovations include the Historic Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale; the New Joe Pinder Administration Building in Key West; Cloverleaf Park in Miami Gardens; Medical Clinic in Hollywood; Security Credentialing Office Relocation at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport; the 550 Office Building and Parking Garage in downtown Ft. Lauderdale; Heron Estates Senior Apartments in Riviera Beach; the Miramar Fire Station No. 107; and the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority Operations Center, Parking Garage and Pompano Beach Tri-Rail Station Improvements.
