Hyundai Air & Sea Show Set to Make a Splash in Miami Beach This Memorial Day Weekend

It is one of the largest gatherings of military equipment in the country.

Also known as “The Greatest Show Above the Earth,” the Hyundai Air & Sea Show provides an unforgettable experience for everyone, offering an exhilarating Memorial Day weekend in Miami Beach. From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 25 and May 26, this free-to-the-public event offers a one-of-a-kind patriotic tribute, showcasing the bravery, technology, and strength of the United States Military alongside our committed first responder agencies.

“There is no better time than Memorial Day weekend to pay tribute to our Military, First Responders, and those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our freedom,” Mickey Markoff says, Executive Producer of the Hyundai Air & Sea Show.

As one of the country’s largest gatherings of military equipment, the event promises a spectacle of extraordinary proportions. From captivating United States Military Aerial Demonstrations to thrilling Cigarette Offshore Powerboat Racing Exhibitions, as well as U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Drug Interdiction Exercises and Military Parachute Team Demonstrations, there is something for everyone at this family-friendly event. But the excitement doesn’t stop there, as there are many more surprises in store for visitors.

Following the conclusion of the Hyundai Air & Sea Show on Saturday, May 25, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., attendees can immerse themselves in the Music Explosion Presented by Hyundai. The event will showcase diverse entertainment, including a DJ, the U.S. Army’s “As You Were” band, the U.S. Air Force Drill Team, and The Miami Beach Classical Music Festival Orchestra, performing patriotic music along Ocean Drive. This dynamic lineup of performers is certain to captivate the audience. Visitors can anticipate a stunning 3D Mapping Projection that will illuminate Ocean Drive’s iconic buildings with patriotic graphics as night falls. Following the projection, the U.S. Army Golden Knights will deliver a breathtaking pyro parachute jump, culminating in the FRLA Fireworks Extravaganza presented by the Florida Restaurant Lodging Association.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
