Miami Mayor Suarez Announces Gun Buyback Program to Aid Ukraine

On Friday, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez staked out a position in support of Ukrainian sovereignty. “Our city shows its support for Ukraine in two different ways,” Suarez said. “We’re going to be sending surplus stock equipment to increase their defensive capabilities.” The equipment, donated by the Miami Police Department, will include 30 gas masks, 44 ballistic helmets, five ballistic vests and 45 traffic reflective vests. Suarez also announced a voluntary citywide gun buyback program to benefit Ukraine.
