New Luxury Hotel Plans November Opening in Palm Beach

The venue features a new ballroom with a garden terrace and poolside lawn.

Iconic Luxury Hotels (ILH), the renowned hospitality brand responsible for prestigious hotels such as Excelsior Venice, Cliveden House and Mayfair Townhouse, will open Palm House Hotel in November. The Mizner-inspired hotel is steps away from the beach and the boutiques of Worth Avenue. Palm House boasts 79 rooms, including 21 magnificent suites. The room sizes are among the largest on the island, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, arched doorways and private terraces. The hotel also offers four outsized suites, including a Presidential Suite with a double-height living area that opens onto a balcony overlooking the pool deck.

“This marks a pivotal moment in the brand’s history as we announce our first Iconic Luxury Hotel in the United States,” says Andrew Stembridge, Executive Director of Iconic Luxury Hotels.

Established in December 2016, Iconic Luxury Hotels operates under L+R Hotels, a family-owned, worldwide hotel investment and management company that oversees a portfolio of more than 105 hotels with around 21,000 guestrooms. Each property boasts unique architecture, cultural positioning, character, traditions, and stories while maintaining a shared dedication to providing exceptional experiences.

“This is an exciting step for L+R Hotels as we continue to grow our Iconic Luxury Hotels portfolio internationally,” says Francisco Macedo, Senior Vice President of Iconic Luxury Hotels.

The current hotel portfolio for ILH includes some of the most renowned establishments worldwide. These range from Cliveden House, a prominent English country estate, to Italy’s Hotel Excelsior, the Venice International Film Festival venue. In the UK, the collection features Chewton Glen, an estate on the South Coast; The Lygon Arms, a 14th-century Coaching Inn in the Cotswolds; 11 Cadogan Gardens in Chelsea, located in one of London’s most prestigious residential neighborhoods; The Mayfair Townhouse, situated in the heart of the exclusive Mayfair district; and The Chelsea Townhouse, which opened in September 2023 just across the road from 11 Cadogan Gardens. Palm House is its first property in the U.S.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
