Philanthropic Organizations Host Annual Joint Tax and Estate Planning Seminar in Fort Lauderdale

More than 400 legal and financial professionals are expected to attend the seminar.

Local tax and estate professionals will come together at the 22nd Annual Joint Tax & Estate Planning Seminar hosted by the Community Foundation of Broward, The Jewish Community Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Broward County, and the United Way of Broward County. This year’s seminar will cover in-depth best practices that will be invaluable to attendees. The event will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at First Baptist Fort Lauderdale.

The upcoming seminar, centered around the theme of ‘Planning for an Uncertain Future,’ will delve into a range of pertinent topics, including current developments, proposed legislation, and the potential sunset of generous estate and gift exemptions in 2026. Attendees will gain invaluable insights into how these issues impact clients’ income, estate, and charitable plans. This seminar is an essential educational forum for professionals in the legal, accounting, investment, financial advisory, and business sectors throughout Broward County.

The upcoming Joint Tax Seminar plans to continue its legacy of providing attendees with a top-tier educational experience, networking opportunities, and cutting-edge presentations from nationally recognized speakers. Beth Shapiro Kaufman, Partner and National Chair of Private Client Services at Lowenstein Sandler will be the featured guest speaker this year. Kaufman has extensive experience in the field, having previously served in the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Tax Policy as both Attorney Advisor and Associate Tax Legislative Counsel. During her keynote, she will address Recent and Expected Regulatory Guidance, Legislative Proposals, and Planning for Uncertainty in the Tax Laws, focusing primarily on tax policy matters affecting trusts and estates.
