Ann Marie Sorrell is the president and CEO of The Mosaic Group, an award-winning advertising, marketing, public relations, and government relations firm serving clients throughout the US and Caribbean. Sorrell holds a MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a BS in Health Care Management from Florida A&M University.

How do you unwind after a long day of work? After a long day of work I like to unwind with a hot cup of tea, a relaxing candle and smooth jazz.
What challenges have you faced in your career, and how did you overcome them? One of the greatest challenges I have faced while building my business and career is having limited financial resources and access to capital. I have overcome those challenges through innovation, strategic collaborations, my skills and knowledge, and build relationships that I have built.
What has been the most monumental moment of your career thus far? The most monumental moment of my career is being able to empower and make an impact on other women and people of color daily.
Who are your role models? My mom, Oprah, Beyonce and Michelle Obama.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten? Network or not work.
What advice would you give a young woman at the start of her career? Dream big, be bold, add value to others and always be your authentic self.
How does being a woman has impacted your career? Being a woman and being a woman of color drives me to always be at my best because I know that I am paving a way and being a role model for other women so I try to perform with a spirit of excellence and be the best that I can be in all that I do.
