Beverly Raphael-Altman is Chairwoman & CEO of RCC Associates, a premier South Florida-based General Contracting firm specializing in restaurant, retail and hospitality projects. Founded in 1971 by her late husband, RCC is now licensed in 33 states with close to 100 employees and one of the top Woman-Owned Businesses in Florida.

How do you unwind after a long day of work? I have a glass of red wine and enjoy a hot soaking bath.
What challenges have you faced in your career, and how did you overcome them? The biggest challenge was taking over as President and CEO of RCC after Richard passed. I overcame it with determination, vision and a supportive team surrounding me.
What has been the most monumental moment of your career thus far? My commencement speech at Nova for their master’s graduates and that same day receiving an honorary doctorate of business administration from them.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten? You don’t have to be the loudest voice in the room for people to hear you.
What advice would you give a young woman at the start of her career? Do not let someone discourage you, especially because of your gender, from achieving your goals and dreams.
How has being a woman impacted your career? I have been able to be a positive influence for other women to pursue and grow in careers that were traditionally male dominated.
