REEF launches development program for local restaurants

There’s still time for local restaurants to take advantage of a local development program from REEF Technology, the largest operator of mobility, logistics hubs, and neighborhood kitchens in the United States. Earlier this month, the food delivery solution company launched a $1 million NBRHD Restaurant Development Program in several U.S. cities, starting with its homebase of Miami.

The program supports local restaurants by helping to scale their delivery business and provide marketing support through REEF’s Neighborhood Kitchens platform. The program will be open to Miami-based restaurants with fewer than three locations. Applications will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 4.

“Historically, restaurants run on extremely tight profit margins and we recognize that local businesses struggle to access industry resources of this caliber,” said Alan Phillips, Chief Creative Officer of REEF. “Our NBRHD Restaurant Development Program fills that gap and is engineered to help our beloved local brands adapt, sustainably grow their business and reach new customers without upfront capital costs. We’re thrilled to continue to support the businesses who are the backbone and heart of our communities.”

Ten applicants will be selected based on the strength of their culinary concept, potential for success on delivery platforms, community following and personal story. Each recipient will receive dedicated marketing campaign for their restaurant, valued at $10,000; a partnership spot in REEF’s Neighborhood Kitchens platform to expand their delivery business (including menu development, procurement and culinary operations); and professional food photography for delivery platforms.

The recipients will be chosen by local culinary personalities such as Michelle Bernstein, Michael Schwartz and Kiko Suarez from Kiko Hospitality Group. Schwartz and Bernstein are two of several Miami restaurants who have partnered with REEF, which operates a network of more than 100 delivery-only neighborhood kitchens across more than 20 cities.

“I’ve personally loved working with REEF Neighborhood Kitchens over the last year,” said Chef Michael Schwartz. “I have creative autonomy over my menus and it’s an incredible way to scale thoughtfully. This program is great for the Miami restaurant community.”

REEF will launch the program in additional U.S. cities this year. Applications can be made here.
