Project DYNAMO, a Tampa-based, veteran-led, donor-funded international rescue organization, has launched Operation Promised Land in response to the Hamas attacks in Israel.
DYNAMO has mobilized ground assets in the region and started emergency launch preparations for its American operations team for potential evacuation and hostage rescue operations in response to the attacks.
“We know of multiple American hostages being held by Hamas,” says Bryan Stern, founder and chief executive officer of Project DYNAMO, at a press conference Sunday.
While on the call Sunday, for 18 minutes, there were six inquiries for Project DYNAMO’s help, Stern said.
“There’s a sizable possibility for synagogues and Jewish temples to be targeted, somehow and in some way. It’s likely, to some extent,” Stern says. “Business owners here, in Tampa, one way or the other, are touched by this situation. It’s just a matter of how close they are to it. I was talking to a business owner from Tampa today and he has two funerals that he’s going to.”
Stern is asking people, or their families, who need assistance to visit the Project DYNAMO website and the U.S. State Department’s STEP program. He also urges families and supporters to track updates on DYNAMO’s social media platforms.
