The Edison Exudes Elegance With Classic Cocktails and Impeccable Dishes

The Orlando location features a theme based on a 1920s-style destination.

Located at the bustling shopping mecca in Orlando, Disney Springs, The Edison stands out as a classy destination where those who visit will find themselves transported to a different time and place. The Edison is not only a restaurant and cocktail bar. It is truly so much more and truly an unexpected haven at the popular Orlando mall.

The Edison is an immersive experience, one that as soon as you step inside, you’ll feel welcome into a different world, one where fine dining, food and inventive cocktails reign.

When I visited, I felt not only like I was part of a different experience from many, but also pampered. The restaurant sets the perfect mood, complete with dim lighting, plush seating and an industrial style setting that seems right out of a classic film.

And now, we know why this is the type of feeling and scene that you’ll encounter while dining there. The Edison theme is based on a 1920s-style destination, and its environment fits it perfectly with dishes that stand out as well as dramatically indulge your taste buds.

Let’s start by discussing the food options. And there are plenty of delicious ones to choose from. The food is homey, yet its comfort comes with a spin, such as the juicy two-handed burger, which you might even want to share, accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. If you feel like you need a little TLC in a meal, the classic grilled cheese and tomato soup combo will certainly satisfy you. The Caesar salad is not your usual type of Caesar, it’s one that is sprinkled perfectly with brioche croutons that add the perfect crunch to the dish. Oh, and don’t miss out on that crispy and delectable bacon appetizer! It’s the perfect way to start the dining experience at the restaurant.

The Edison Burger

Don’t expect to dine at The Edison and to get your usual, run of the mill, casual restaurant experience. Here, the environment is as striking as it is entertaining. While there, we indulged on a delicious dinner accompanied by craft cocktails to the beat of a 1920s inspired band, all dressed in outfits from that era. While they sang and performed current and modern hits, their renditions where jazzy, relaxing and full of style.

Oh, and keep an eye out for the mysterious fairies…they just might have a little elixir sprinkled with fairy dust to offer. And you just might want to try one of these refreshing little drinks, served in tiny bottles that you can take home and prepped with a little dash of magic.

Speaking of style, this is the place at Disney Springs where you should come to when seeking balance and inventive cocktails. We had the opportunity to try some amazing ones, ones that were created and served with care on site.

Two stand-out drinks that we had the chance to try were A Fire in Vermont and the Gilded Old Fashioned. They are known as High Roller Cocktails in the menu, cocktails meant for the top VIPs and featuring fiery and smokey presentations that are perfect for videos and pictures to capture the memory of how elegantly they are served. Not only that but you’ll be impressed by how perfectly balanced they are and how they are made with top-notch spirits.

Make sure to take the time to visit The Edison while in Orlando. It’s the type of experience that’s worth writing home to. Or to come back home from a vacation or visit with plenty of impressive images and stories from the dining room to share.

His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast.
