Honoring the best in law
Welcome to the SFBW Leaders in Law section, celebrating the top firms and top lawyers throughout South Florida.
This is the second year for our Leaders in Law event and the popularity has grown.
SFBW has quickly become South Florida’s business source for inside, in-depth business news and analysis. Leaders in Law focuses on how attorneys play a key role in business strategy for the magazine’s 117,000 readers, who are senior level executives, business owners and top professionals.
The Leaders In Law Awards is a unique program created by Lifestyle Media Group to honor the lawyers and law firms who have achieved excellence in law, maintained the highest level of ethics, shown a commitment to their community and proven themselves as leaders. It’s our opportunity to applaud the best lawyers in categories ranging from insurance to environment, corporate to litigation, taxes to real estate and recognize the law firms that do the most for the community.
What’s different about Leaders In Law Awards is that it is an awards program of the people, by the people and for the people. The attorneys and firms recognized in the following pages were nominated by members of the community – many of them SFBW readers. We also called upon your clients and colleagues to submit nominations for those deserving recognition. We asked specifically to learn about those who have demonstrated an overall commitment to and impact on the South Florida area in their specialized practices. We wanted to showcase legal professionals who give back to their community.
We received hundreds of nominations for Leaders in Law through out SFBWmag.com website. The results were evaluated by our editorial team, led by Editor-in-Chief Kevin Gale, who has three decades of experience as a business journalist in South Florida.
Look for coverage of our awards gala at the Gallery of Amazing Things in an upcoming issue of SFBW.
The Leaders In Law Awards are just one of the many exciting events we have planned for this year and beyond. I hope you can join us for Up & Comers, which honors outstanding business people under the age of 40. It will be held on Thursday, June 18, at “The Venue” in Wilton Manors.
This fall we will have our second Apogee Awards, which honor C-level executives. For more information on both events, just click on the events tab at SFBWmag.com.
SFBW wants to do more than just cover the South Florida. We need to be a part of it. We invite you to join us in the celebration of the best our community has to offer.
Sincerely,
Gary Press

Roig Lawyers is different. Its attorneys are diverse, non-traditional, soulful, salt-of-the-earth straight-shooters who bring a fresh approach to the practice of law. This isn’t a stretch of language; it’s written on the firm’s website. “We are the anti-lawyers. . .not defined by the status quo, hampered in our creativity or inhibited by the traditional attorney mold.”
Don’t confuse a light-hearted turn-of-phrase with their approach to practicing law. With integrity and a “strong moral compass,” Roig Lawyers represents clients in matters that cross an array of areas of law, industries and geographies. They lead strategic transactions and handle complex disputes in the areas of appellate law, corporate, fraud investigations, healthcare, homeowners / property, insurance services, labor and employment, litigation, PIP/no-fault, premises liability, real estate and workers compensation.
