Get a Sneak Peek at FATVillage as Construction Top-Off Approaches

The arts district's purpose is to promote the creation, exhibition, curation, research and education of emerging artists.

In partnership with Urban Street Development, Cresset Real Estate and Las Americas, Hines is developing the 5.6-acre, 835,000-square-foot office, retail and residential mixed-use urban destination in Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village neighborhood. The four-block district is named after the 501c3 nonprofit arts organization, FATVillage Arts District Inc. (Flagler + Art + Technology, or Food + Art + Technology). Property owners Doug McCraw and Lutz Hofbauer created FATVillage Arts District to rally philanthropic support around sustaining an artist community.

The arts district states its purpose as promoting the creation, exhibition, curation, research and education of emerging contemporary artists and generate an inclusive art community through a range of programs, cross-disciplinary collaboration and experimentation. The idea is that what’s good for the arts is good for the economy.
