Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Appoints Bank of America’s Lori Chevy to Serve as Chair

Lori Chevy (pictured) has been named Chair of the Board for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. She will take over the Alliance’s economic development from 2020-2021 Chair Sam Robbin, president & CEO of Carolina Aircraft Corp. Chevy serves as the president for Bank of America Fort Lauderdale and will officially begin operating in the role at the Alliance Annual Meeting on Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Signature Grand in Davie.

“As our region continues to grow, it is more important now than ever to foster economic development in Broward County by offering leadership services, supporting job creation and promoting financial stability for individuals and businesses,” Chevy says. “It is an honor to be part of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance’s Board of Directors as we strive to develop more vibrant communities and improve the quality of life for our area’s citizens.”

Also serving as Alliance officers are Vice-Chair Gregory A. Haile, president of Broward College; Secretary Erick Strati, an executive for Wells Fargo’s South Florida market; and Treasurer Doug Bartel, a Market Leader for Florida Blue.

The board, comprised of officers and directors, serves a one-year term from October 2021 to September 2022. The Alliance’s County Commission liaison for the upcoming fiscal year will be announced following the commission’s annual reorganization meeting in November.

“Our 2021-2022 Board of Directors is a diverse, powerhouse group of community leaders from numerous industry backgrounds,” says Alliance president and CEO Bob Swindell. “We are very appreciative of their involvement and commitment to growing jobs and diversifying the economy in Broward County.
