“My journey to my current position is likely unique. I started my professional career as an attorney, still licensed by the Florida Bar. I ran for and won a seat in the State House of Representatives in 1996, representing the 96th district, where I served for eight years, leaving due to term limits. I then served for 10 years on the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving one term as Mayor, before being offered the position at Visit Lauderdale. My public service definitely placed me in a good position to direct a county agency with a budget of $30 million. It’s been an amazing journey!”
