Ginger Martin to Serve on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Miami Branch

American National Bank’s president and CEO, Ginger Martin, will serve on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Miami Branch. Her three-year term began Jan. 1, 2022 and will run through Dec. 31, 2024. As part of her role serving on the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Miami branch, Martin will help provide financial information from her financial institution and local communities to the reserve bank’s president and head office directors, who use the information in discussing monetary policy options and making discount rate recommendations.

Martin has spent 25 years working for American National Bank, the oldest and largest community bank with headquarters in Broward County. Under her leadership, the bank has received numerous awards for its financial performance and community involvement, including being rated one of the Top 200 Healthiest Banks in the U.S. in 2021 with an A+ Health & Stability Rating by DepositAccounts.com, a subsidiary of LendingTree, as well as being a five-star rated bank by Bauer Financial. American National Bank has also received the Banky Award from The Institute for Extraordinary Banking for four consecutive years and Small Business of the Year from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.

Martin’s career accolades include leading American National Bank to be named one of the “Top Women-Led Businesses” in the state of Florida for seven consecutive years by The Commonwealth Institute. She has also been received numerous business leadership awards such as the 2020 Pillar of the Community by Broward College, the 2015 Laureate by Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, the 2021 Apogee Award by South Florida Business and Wealth Magazine and was also a Profiles in Leadership Honoree by Leadership Broward.

Martin currently serves on the boards of the National Christian Foundation of South Florida, the Florida Bankers Association (FBA) School of Banking, FBA BancServ, NSU Ambassador’s Board, Tower Forum and Broward Workshop. Her previous experience serving on boards included Leadership Broward Foundation, Extraordinary Women Leading Change and Executives’ Association of Fort Lauderdale. She is also a former foster parent, where she served on the board of 4KIDS of South Florida, Inc. Martin is also a member of American Bankers Association Community Bank Council, Junior Achievement’s Circle of Wise Women, South Florida Business Journal’s Influential Women’s Group, International Women’s Forum, Strikeforce 421 Women’s Giving Circle, Freedom Challenge’s Ambassador Team, International Women’s Forum of Florida, Women Executive Leadership, The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce’s Council of Economic Advisors and United Way of Broward County’s Tocqueville Society.

Her passion for fighting against human trafficking has led her on a mountain climbing journey with The Freedom Challenge since 2014. With six climbs under her belt, including significant climbs of Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2015, Machu Picchu, Peru in 2017 and Mt. Whitney, California in 2018, Martin has confusedly raised funds and awareness for the women and children who are victims of human trafficking. Due to her charitable work, Martin has spoken to many different groups throughout South Florida, including a TEDx Talk, to tell her story of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and the leadership lessons learned along the way.
