Subaru of Pembroke Pines Makes Significant Donation to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Humane Society

Subaru of Pembroke Pines has donated $108,000 to South Florida charities, including Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the Humane Society of Broward County. The funds were raised during its annual Share the Love campaign from Nov. 18, 2021, through Jan. 3, 2022. For every vehicle purchase or lease, Subaru donates $250 to a hometown charity of the customer’s choosing. Check presentations took place on June 7 at Subaru of Pembroke Pines.

“The Subaru Share the Love campaign is very important to helping many worthy causes, and we at Subaru of Pembroke Pines and the Craig Zinn Automotive Group are pleased to have once again participated in the campaign,” Craig Zinn says, Founder and CEO of Craig Zinn Automotive Group. “By continuing to raise funds for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, and now the Humane Society of Broward County, our goal is to help those in need in our local community.”

Subaru of Pembroke Pines is the largest donor to the Subaru Share the Love program in the U.S., with $1.4 million given to the local community. The company actively supports several local initiatives year-round and is deeply committed to The Subaru Love Promise, which includes an actionable commitment to the community through philanthropic efforts.

Since 2018, it has donated over $543,200 to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Every year, Subaru of Pembroke Pines owner and operator Craig Zinn Automotive Group matches the amount raised by the campaign. This year’s campaign celebrated a kickoff luncheon in November at the dealership attended by representatives from Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the Humane Society of Broward County, raising awareness and sharing best practices to best support the Subaru Share the Love campaign.

Over the last 13 years, through the Subaru Share the Love event, Subaru of America Inc. and its participating retailers have donated over $200 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national charities and over 1,610 hometown charities. In its 14th year, Subaru of America is on track to bring that total to over $225 million.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
