American Heritage Schools Holds Comedy Event Benefitting the Innocence Project of Florida

The organization provides litigation efforts and support services to wrongfully convicted individuals free of charge.

The Pre-Law Society of American Heritage Schools is organizing its annual comedy event series, Stand Up for Innocence, at its Broward Campus in Plantation. The event at 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 3 is being held in support of the Innocence Project of Florida, a nonprofit organization that works towards helping innocent prisoners in Florida regain their freedom and start afresh. The event promises to be an evening filled with laughter and joy, all aimed towards raising funds for a noble cause.

The event will be hosted by Karen Bergreen, a published novelist, former lawyer, and standup comedian who frequently appears on Comedy Central and performs in various New York City comedy clubs. The opening act for the event is Andy Pitz, who has been performing standup comedy for over 20 years and has made several TV appearances, including on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. The headlining act is Owen Smith, an accomplished comedian, writer, and actor featured on Conan and Colbert and has written for various TV shows such as ABC’s Black•ishThe ESPY’sAre We There Yet, and Everybody Hates Chris.
