Foster & Partners collaborated with the design team at Apple to create a new two-level store at Aventura Mall. The undulating, vaulted roof is designed to be reminiscent of the city’s nautical and architectural roots while the spaces are art deco-inspired. “This store is very ‘Miami’ to me—its special trees, the light and the new roof. It is also quintessentially Apple, marrying the outdoor lifestyle with a sense of freedom and creativity that is intrinsic to the way we work,” said Apple design guru Jony Ive.
