Optima at Aventura signs new tenants

The pandemic didn’t stop an Aventura office complex from attracting new tenants.

The Real Deal reports that Optima signed four new tenants, joining Soffer Health Institute, SimpleMD and Benihana headquarters.

Located at 21500 Biscayne Blvd., Optima, which is set for completion in early 2021, spans 36,000 square feet and across three buildings: the White Tower, the Red Tower and the Onyx Tower. The new tenants include asset management firm Kawa Capital, private equity firm WM Partners, real estate investment firm Aurele Properties and medical spa Makeover Aesthetics. Kawa is the first tenant to sign for Onyx, which will stand at 28 stories.

The deals were brokered from March to September by Blanca Commercial Real Estate. It’s news that bodes well for the office market in Miami-Dade. Blanca founder and CEO Tere Blanca told the Real Deal that Optima leasing continued as expected even during the pandemic. “We are finding that most companies are eager to get back to the office, and are looking ahead to provide a long-term workplace experience that especially gives employees flexible spaces to work safely,” she said.

Hopefully, the trend will continue as office projects come to completion. Last year, the Miami Herald reported that in Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Aventura, Brickell, Wynwood and the Design District, there were 1,785,666 square feet of Class A office space being developed as of the third quarter of 2019, according to JLL, a real estate services firm.
