Scenic has decided to release its 2025 European River Cruise season earlier than usual due to a significant increase in sales and interest. As part of this new season, Scenic has added more eight- and 15-day departures, new itineraries, and city extensions. The suite categories have also been updated to simplify the choices for guests. The pricing and itinerary details are now available for all 2025 sailings, including France, Portugal, the Rhine and Danube, and more. Additionally, guests can find information about the various immersive experiences (Scenic Freechoice) and exclusive events (Scenic Enrich) offered, as well as the long list of inclusions that come with a truly all-inclusive vacation.
The luxury cruise line has added two exciting new itineraries to its 2025 European River Cruise season. The popular Gems of the Danube, previously an eight-day journey, now sails between Regensburg and Budapest, allowing guests more time to explore the ports along the route. Additionally, the itinerary includes a stop in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia, and new excursions such as scouring the city’s medieval old town, dating back to the 9th century, with an expert guide. Guests can also enjoy a morning of coffee and cake with friendly locals at the famous and historic Komuth Bakeri, decorated in Renaissance-style paintings and frescos. These luxury sailings are genuinely all-inclusive, with fares starting at $4,757 per person, double, and there are 42 departures in 2025.
Embark on an authentic Eastern European adventure with the 16-day Danube Delta Discovery, sailing between Budapest and Bucharest in 2025. Explore the cultures and historical sites of six former behind-the-Iron-Curtain countries and experience the vibrant nightlife of four capital cities – Budapest, Bratislava, Belgrade, and Bucharest – during overnight port calls. Highlights of the itinerary include a small boat cruise through the 580,000-hectare wetlands of the Danube Delta, where guests can spot over 300 species of birds; an exclusive private classical music concert at the stunning Gödöllõ Royal Palace, one of the favorite residences of Queen Elisabeth of Hungary; an e-bike tour through the Kopacki Rit nature park, a natural habitat for 293 different kinds of birds, 46 species of freshwater fish, several amphibians and reptiles; and a cooking class on making Banica, the traditional Bulgarian cheese-filled pie. The season has four departures, with fares starting at $9,043.
Scenic recommends city extensions as the best way to extend your vacation time while on a cruise. For the 2025 season, it has added two new three-day options – Nuremberg and Munich – to the 10 already available. Nuremberg, Bavaria’s second-largest city, has a rich and turbulent history as an essential commercial hub from the Middle Ages onwards. Guests can explore its Old Town and visit the 12th-century Imperial Castle, which was the preferred residence of German kings and is one of the most significant imperial forts of the Holy Roman Empire. Nuremberg’s Documentation Center Nazi Party Rallying Grounds is also a must-visit museum that has a permanent exhibition called “Fascination and Terror,” which focuses on the causes, connections, and consequences of Nazi Germany.
Munich is widely regarded as one of the liveliest cities in Europe. By exploring the city for three days, guests can immerse themselves in a rich cultural experience. They can visit world-class museums, admire the 15th-century Frauenkirche church with its two distinctive onion domes, witness the famous carillon (Glockenspiel) in Marienplatz, and take a stroll through the English Garden, Munich’s green lung. Guests can also indulge in a beer at the world-renowned Hofbräuhaus, founded in 1589. If the guests are traveling in October, they can enjoy Munich’s world-famous Oktoberfest, which is undoubtedly worth experiencing.
