Broward Education Foundation Hosts Hall of Fame Award Breakfast

The nonprofit aims to increase advocacy and financial support to impact student achievement.

The distinguished alums of Broward County Public Schools will be honored at the 2023 Publix Super Markets Charities Hall of Fame Award Breakfast presented by Memorial Healthcare System, where Broward Education Foundation aims to recognize alums who have made significant contributions to the community or excelled in the field of education. The event will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa.

Selected Distinguished Alumni will be honored in the following categories:

  • Bravo! Award, presented to an alumnus who has made an indelible mark in the community
    • Fonnie Gill, Vice-President of Centennial Bank, Pompano Beach High School class of 1969
  • Community Achievement Award, presented to alums who have made significant achievements in any field
    • Wilnar Julmiste, Esq., Managing Attorney, Julmiste Legal, Fort Lauderdale High School class of 2000
    • Edward “Teddy” Morse, III, Chairman & CEO Ed Morse Automotive Group, Coral Springs High School class of 1993
    • Nitin Motwani, Managing Partner of Merrimac Ventures. Fort Lauderdale High School class of 1997
  • Achievement in Education Award, presented to alums who have dedicated their careers to public education
    • Jeannie Krouch, Kindergarten Teacher and Equity Liaison for Westchester Elementary School, Dillard High School, class of 1992
    • Joseph Luechauer, Broward County Public Schools Music and Performing Arts K-12 Curriculum Supervisor, South Broward High School class of 1983
    • Jocelyn Reid, Principal, Walker Elementary School, Boyd Anderson, class of 1990
