NEW September Jobs Report Good News for South Florida

Leisure and hospitality are up +96,000 jobs nationwide.

September 2023 marked the 33rd consecutive month of nationwide job growth, with the labor market adding a stunning 336,000 jobs—the latest sign that the economy is still in a sprint. Many of the industries experiencing the most growth reflect South Florida’s strengths, including leisure and hospitality, health care and the region’s maturing business services sector. “September’s job report was the strongest since January of this year and showed an acceleration in late summer hiring,” says Tom Jalics, senior vice president, managing director and chief investment strategist at Fifth Third Private Bank. “The domestic labor market remains robust and continues to exceed expectations, indicating the strength and resiliency of the U.S. economy.”
