Scott Michael Group and On the Ball Ventures form strategic alliance

Two South Florida companies are cementing their friendship with a strategic alliance.

Scott Alpert, managing partner at Scott Michael Group, and Steve Nudelberg, principal of On the Ball Ventures, have been friends more 20 years, prompting Alpert to say that “it’s about time” the two joined forces.” SMG offers manufacturing representation, merchandising, service,
sales training and business development for small to medium-sized businesses while On the Ball specializes in building sales cultures that use modern tactics to increase new business development, helping companies evolve into the digital era. In their new strategic alliance, their strengths are leveraged for the better, bringing a fresh perspective to SMG’s core business of retail, wholesale, and international distribution as well as its entire relationship network.

“Steve and his team bring to SMG the value proposition that I have been looking for to help raise my industry to the next level by modernizing the sales process,” Alpert says. “As I like to say, ‘Great moments are born from Great Opportunities.'” He adds, “In the beginning, I will be working with clients in my industry with Steve leading and then venture into other industries. We will work from each other strengths to see who might be more appropriate for the client and when appropriate work together.”

Ultimately, friendship and experience will breed results for clients. Nudelberg and Alpert have a combined 80 years of experience in business, business development, sales strategy, mentoring and coaching, which Alpert says will give clients “a world-class experience.”

Nudelberg adds, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Scott Alpert once again. Over the last 20+ years, Scott has made valuable introductions that have proved to be successful engagements for On the Ball, this alliance brings those years of relationship equity to the forefront. This fits our strategy of doing everything we can to help sales professionals all over the world modernize their sales process.”

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.
