Walmart is bringing a new Neighborhood Market grocery store to Doral.
South Florida developer Terra has signed a 40,344-square-foot lease with Walmart at Doral Atrium, its 78,000-square-foot retail development at the northwest corner of Doral Boulevard and 79th Avenue. Construction on the new store is expected to begin this fall, with an opening planned for 2027.
The Walmart Neighborhood Market will anchor Doral Atrium and offer a smaller-format alternative to the retailer’s traditional Supercenters. The store will carry fresh produce, meat and dairy products, bakery and deli items and pantry staples, along with household goods, health and beauty products and pet supplies. It will also include an in-store pharmacy.
“At Terra, we approach retail as an extension of the communities we build, with a focus on convenience, accessibility, and long-term relevance,” says David Martin, CEO of Terra. “Walmart’s Neighborhood Market brings an essential, everyday use to Doral Atrium that complements the project’s broader mix and responds to the needs of a rapidly growing neighborhood.”
Doral Atrium is now approximately 95% leased. Other tenants include PNC Bank, Bonchon Chicken, Sushi Mas, TREMBLE Pilates and The Good Feet Store. About 8,000 square feet of retail space remains available for lease.
The development is located near thousands of apartments and single-family homes as well as City Place Doral and Downtown Doral.
Doral has more than 87,000 residents and continues to see residential and employment growth. Its location near Miami International Airport, major expressways and the developing Miami Freedom Park has also contributed to demand for additional retail and mixed-use projects in the area.
Doral Atrium is one of several Terra retail developments in South Florida. The company’s portfolio also includes Doral Square, Centro City in West Little Havana and Target-anchored Grove Central in Coconut Grove.
