A recent Washington Post article thoroughly details which parts of the country are cooling, which are stable, and which are heating up. Check out its county-by-county chart in all its granular detail.
Topline: California is cooling—that includes LA county, Orange, San Diego, Santa Barbara and the pricey San Francisco Bay area. Popular Travis County (Austin), which competes with Miami metro for techies, is cooling. Likewise, King County (Seattle) is cooling a lot.
Stable or even warming: Cook County (Chicago) and the New York tristate (NY, NJ, Conn.).
Boston area is reasonably stable, comparatively.
Finally, South Florida is in a similar situation as Boston, with Miami and Broward in decent shape and Palm Beach somewhat less so.
