City National Crosses the River

City National Bank of Florida is moving its headquarters across the Miami River, from 1450 Brickell Ave. to the 47-story Miami Tower, whose nighttime illumination makes it a prominent building on the city skyline. City National inherited some space in the building at 100 SE Second Ave. when it acquired Total Bank. It is expanding by 57,000 square feet for a total of 105,000 square feet, says the agency leasing team at Transwestern South Florida. UBS also was signed to a 37,000-square-foot lease renewal at the building, whose occupancy has gone from 80.8 percent to 94.2 percent.
