Loews Coral Gables Hotel Unveils Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Concepts

Loews Coral Gables Hotel chose Chef Ricardo Jarquin to manage all culinary aspects of the new 242-room hotel in Coral Gables. Jarquin will oversee the development and implementation of menus and culinary offerings for all dining outlets, banquet functions and curated hotel culinary programming.

Chef Jarquin has 17 years of experience working for premier hotel brands across the country. He recently worked at St. Regis Bal Harbour, serving as Executive Chef for two years. Before that, he held the same role at W Miami and Silverado Resort in Napa, CA. Throughout his career, Jarquin has held Executive Chef and leadership roles at notable brands, including Four Seasons (Miami, New York, Hawaii), The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Hilton (San Diego), Langham Chicago and Conrad (New York).

Loews Hotel will feature four restaurants and lounges, 24-hour in-room dining and a rooftop terrace to generate a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. The new outlets include:

Americana Kitchen: An ode to the Americana Hotel built by the Tisch Family – owners of Loews Hotels & Co – in 1956 in what is now Bal Harbour. It offers fine dining featuring American classics, including breakfast favorites and locally-infused, regional lunch and dinner cuisine.

Americana Bar: A lobby bar offering classic cocktails handcrafted in the tradition of old-school American glamour, complimented by an expansive wine collection.

Phineas: A poolside 9th-floor eatery celebrating the Latin flavors of South Florida via small plates and specialty cocktails, with sky-high views of Coral Gables.

Miami Joe Coffee Co.: The locally-inspired grab-and-go market offers locally roasted coffee, homemade pastries, fresh salads, sandwiches, snacks and gelato.

Loews Coral Gables Hotel is just four blocks from Coral Gables’ iconic Miracle Mile. The hotel boasts 242 guestrooms, including 21 stylish suites featuring a sophisticated, modern design, luxe amenities, spa, fitness center, pool and four restaurants and lounges. It also features over 30,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting space, which includes a 9,000 square foot ballroom and a 9th-floor event deck with views of downtown Coral Gables. Loews Coral Gables Hotel is the second Loews Hotel in South Florida, joining the iconic Loews Miami Beach Hotel in South Beach.
