Plantation Walk construction starts

Plantation Mayor Lynn Stoner, Art Falcone of Encore Capital, Kaufman Lynn president Frank White, and Mark Hyatt, Ron Jacobs and Nick Sortal, Plantation city council members

Kaufman Lynn Construction broke ground on phase one of Encore Capital’s Plantation Walk, a $350 million retail/residential project that will transform the former site of the Plantation Fashion Mall. Kaufman Lynn has been contracted to build a seven-story, 353,000-square-foot apartment building with 171 luxury units, 63,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and 12,000 square feet of amenity space. At its peak, more than 250 subcontractors and tradespeople will be working on the project, at 321 N. University Drive. The estimated completion date is April 2020.
