Solar Yacht
Silent Yachts, which has a Miami Beach office, used the Palm Beach International Boat Show for the U.S. introduction of the first production yachts powered exclusively by solar. Four different models, which can include diesel hybrids or sails, are shown online at silentyachts.us. A major selling point is the yacht’s silent running, the maintenance-free motors, a 25-year solar panel warranty and a 10-year battery warranty. Prices start at 3.5 million euros (approximately $4.3 million), says a publicist.

Biking the Waves
Schiller Bikes had a U.S. launch party for its water bikes at The Standard Spa in Miami Beach on March 28. While the resort is making the bikes available to guests, consumers also can buy them at schillerbikes.com. Prices starting at $4,500. Schiller says it is the world’s most advanced water bike because it combines an optimized propeller design with a lightweight aluminum bike frame and rugged inflatable pontoons.
Premium Rum
Bacardà is launching two new premium products, Bacardà Añejo Cuatro ($19.99) and Bacardà Gran Reserva Diez ($39.99), to broaden its lineup of premium rums, which previously included its Reserve Ocho ($29.99) and Gran Reserva Limitada ($100). Bacardi, whose U.S. headquarters is in Coral Gables, says premium rums are only 15 percent of the market, compared with 53 percent for tequila and 43 percent for whiskey. Bacardà projects it could reap $550 million in additional sales.
