The Second-Most Watched Sport in the World: Cricket is Coming to Broward

Cognizant Major League Cricket will bring its 2025 season to Broward County Stadium the first week of July.

Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC), the first professional Twenty20 cricket league in the United States, will bring its 2025 season to Broward County Stadium from July 1–6, offering fans in South Florida a rare opportunity to experience world-class cricket during a high-energy Fourth of July week.

Following opening matches at the Oakland Coliseum (June 12–18) and Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium (June 20–29), MLC’s third season will conclude with the Playoffs and Championship Final back in Grand Prairie from July 8–13.

“Broward County Stadium is an exceptional venue for Major League Cricket,” said Johnny Grave, CEO of MLC. “With recent renovations and strong community support, it’s fantastic to bring elite-level cricket to fans here and continue growing the game across the United States.”

A Global Sport Meets a Global Community in Broward

Cricket is the second-most-watched sport in the world, with over 2.5 billion fans worldwide (WorldAtlas, 2024). South Florida’s demographic makeup, including strong South Asian, Caribbean, South African, and British expatriate communities, makes Broward County a natural hub for the sport’s expansion across North America (American Cricket Federation, 2023; U.S. Census Bureau, 2020).

“This elite level of cricket play and competition highlights our stadium’s importance in the experience and expansion of professional cricket in the United States and throughout the world,” said Broward County Commissioner Hazelle Rogers. “We are excited to welcome fans and teams to Broward County and look forward to seeing everyone there!”

Nine matches will take place over six days in the revamped Broward County Stadium, including a July 4 doubleheader featuring marquee matchups, a local cultural fair and appearances by the league’s most prominent teams. Fans can also expect cultural entertainment, food vendors, giveaways, youth zones and local business activations.

General admission starts at $20; kids’ tickets are $15 and Broward Season Passes (to all Broward matches) are $100. Receive a 10% discount with promo code MLCBROWARD when you purchase online here.
