First Resident Moves Into $120 Million Westlake Luxury Towers at John Knox Village

Janet Anding resides on the top floor of The Vue.

John Knox Village of Florida, Inc. in Pompano Beach recently welcomed its first resident move-in to Westlake luxury towers. JKV resident Janet Anding was the first to secure her deposit at The Vue of Westlake, which is 15 stories high. The Terrace, an 11-story adjoining tower, is part of a multi-phase and seven-year project worth $120 million. It includes 147 luxurious lakefront apartment homes designed by state-of-the-art designers, from 1,277 to 2,346 square feet. The common area lobby on the first floor will offer several new amenities such as a high-tech projection theater, technology hub, art studio, spiritual space, club room, library, BV French Press – a bakery, coffee and wine bar, and Westlake Eatery – a fast-casual restaurant serving freshly made food all day.

The Westlake project has a collaborative team consisting of John Knox Village residents and staff, its Board of Directors, Moss Construction, Gallo Herbert Architects, Keith & Associates Engineers, EDSA Landscape Architects, Weitz Construction, BSSW Architects, Perkins Eastman Architects, and Clifton Larson Allen Financial. They all serve as key advisors on the Westlake project and the Master Site Plan work.

Anding has lived at JKV for the last nine years. She has done a lot of long-distance traveling, seeing 156 of the 193 countries in the United Nations and 228 of the 330 places noted in the “Travelers’ Century Club list, and as of last year, she has crossed the equator 48 times. While traveling, Anding never worries about the maintenance and care of her home at JKV.

“The minute I heard about Westlake, I was the first to put a deposit down,” she says. “I wrote a letter that the apartment had to be on the top floor, southeast corner. The first reason was I wanted that view, second was the covered parking, and third was being in the center of everything.”

John Knox Village is an award-winning Life Plan Retirement Community that offers its residents a luxurious and enriched lifestyle along with long-term medical care. It has been providing an engaging and stress-free environment since 1967, offering an all-inclusive full continuum of care from independent living and assisted living to short and long-term skilled nursing care. The community allows seniors to plan for future health care needs while enjoying first-class amenities. The team at JKV is committed to excellence and guiding principles, ensuring that residents experience the unique JKV lifestyle every day. The community is witnessing a fast-growing number of residents who want to enjoy their golden years in the best way possible.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico.
