Quantum Foundation awarded more than $1 million to 19 Palm Beach County nonprofit organizations during the first half of 2026, funding programs ranging from food assistance and healthcare access to mental health services and workforce development.
The West Palm Beach-based health foundation distributed $1.09 million in grants during the first and second quarters of the year.
Among the recipients was the Edna W. Runner Education Center, which received $56,900 to expand its Nourishing Futures food security program for at-risk youth. The year-round program serves 127 students in kindergarten through eighth grade and their families with healthy after-school snacks, summer meals, weekend food bags and nutrition education.
“Every child deserves reliable access to nutritious food so they can learn, grow, and thrive,” said Travis Conway, executive director of the Edna W. Runner Education Center.
Other grants address needs throughout the county. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County received $150,000 for its Healthcare Workforce Readiness Center at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach, while Vita Nova and Clinics Can Help each received $100,000.
The Palm Beach County Food Bank was awarded $75,000 for its Groceries for Seniors program, and the Ferd & Gladys Alpert Jewish Family Service of Palm Beach County received $70,000 for its Mentoring 4 Kids initiative.
Funding also targeted communities in western Palm Beach County. The Glades Initiative received $50,000 for a food-security program serving Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay, while Balanced Living Mentorship received $30,000 for mentoring and counseling services with an emphasis on Belle Glade and Pahokee.
“Strong communities begin with healthy children and families,” Quantum Foundation President Eric Kelly said.
Quantum Foundation was created with $125 million in proceeds from the sale of JFK Medical Center. Now in its third decade, the foundation has approximately $172 million in assets and says it has awarded $184 million to hundreds of Palm Beach County nonprofits since its inception.
All money awarded by the foundation remains in Palm Beach County.
