Fatherly Bonds Remain Strong at The Jills Zeder Group in Miami

Besides securing over $2 billion in closed sales involving the luxury residential real estate market last year, The Jills Zeder Group also features three families covering two generations of real estate professionals. These families include Jill Hertzberg and her children Danny Hertzberg and Hillary HertzbergJill Eber and her sister Felise Eber; and Judy Zeder and her children, Nathan Zeder and Kara Zeder Rosen

With offices in Miami Beach and Coral Gables, The Jills Zeder Group, affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty, has grown into a premier real estate business that encompasses a family atmosphere centered around entrepreneurship and love. The ability to foster teamwork by enabling each family member to bring a fresh perspective and a diverse skill set has helped the company reach industry records, including closing $2.25 billion in sales in 2021 and over $1 billion in 2020.

Nathan Zeder and his family

“Working with my family and my other two families, as I will call the Hertzberg and Eber side of our team, is something that we can only do because I believe we’ve had amazing parents that I am still doing my best to learn from on a daily basis,” Nathan Zeder says. “The value of family, people who God willing will have your back at any time for any reason, is something that I truly cherish and getting to work with three of them is an absolute blessing.”

Helping manage billions of dollars in real estate transactions while juggling full-time work as a father is not always easy for Danny Hertzberg and Nathan Zeder. Still, the two strive to invest valuable time with their kids to build stronger relationships with them along the way. Working in an industry that involves significant interpersonal interaction and constant client demands can be challenging, but the fatherly lessons they learned from their fathers are invaluable.

“I learned how to be a father from my dad, who was and is the most amazing role model anyone could dream of,” Danny Hertzberg says (pictured top). “My dad has taught me many important life lessons and has always led by example with the highest integrity, work ethic and dedication to his community, his friends, his work colleagues, but above all, his unwavering dedication to family. That is what being a father means to me.”

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico.
