Big Plans for The Boca Raton Center for Arts and Innovation

The Boca Raton Center for Arts and Innovation has set itself some pretty high aspirations: a world-class performing arts venue, a state-of-the-art event space, an instant landmark and an incubator for ideas and education. And a big piece of its mission is to remove barriers to access—a place where seven flexible and unique spaces (shown: the Boca Forum) will offer curated experiences both indoors and out, public and private, free and ticketed. The center is meant to appeal to people of all ages; students and professionals; and the well-heeled and the underserved. Resting in the heart of downtown Boca Raton, the facility is projected to break ground in 2025—Boca Raton’s centenary year—with its full opening expected by early 2028. The project will be situated at 590 Plaza Real, at the north end of Mizner Park, and will include the existing amphitheater and the raw parcel that is already zoned for cultural usage and has remained undeveloped for more than three decades.
