La Byci will open its bike shop and cycling club in the Wynwood Arts District on Tuesday. Along with providing everything riders need, from high-end apparel to bikes, the company also offers an all-inclusive cycling club for riders of all levels.
“I just love cycling and wanted to create a place that is focused on building a unique cycling community that is inclusive, where everyone can join, hang out, ride and have access to the latest and greatest products for cycling in the market, from nutrition, clothing to a brand-new bike,” Juan Youssef says, owner of La Byci.
The 1,400 square foot retail space will serve as the exclusive East coast authorized retailer for Australian cycling apparel brand MAAP. Shoppers can expect a full array of gear, from helmets to footwear, including brands such as Fizik, Udog and Abus. La Byci aims to give its customers a unique experience when purchasing a new bike. The company will handle the purchase from start to finish, including a tailored bike fitting once the bicycle arrives in the store. It features bikes from well-known and coveted brands, including BlackHeart Bike Company, Factor and Wilier Triestina. The store also features a mini repair shop to handle all repairs and fittings.
With “community” at its forefront, La Byci strives to offer an inviting, fun and friendly store designed for functionality with a modern artsy vibe and sleek industrial elements to showcase the merchandise. A full coffee bar and lounge area are available for guests to encourage shoppers to “hang out.”
“We really want our customers to feel welcomed at La Byci and not intimidated. Since purchasing a bike is such an investment, we want our clients to feel like family here like they are part of our community,” Youssef says.
La Byci is independently owned and operated by Youssef, a Miami dentist by day with his own practice, Loop Dental, and an avid cycling enthusiast. Youssef partnered with Brazilian high-performance athlete and cyclist Deborah Finger to manage the day-to-day operations. Youssef felt that Miami lacked a bike shop with this level of commitment to exceptional customer service and a more rider-centered experience and sought to create this mentality when he founded La Byci.
La Byci bike shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m.
