Florida East Coast Realty (FECR), an integrated real estate development and management company with more than 60 million square feet of construction completed, announced that its founder and chairman, Tibor Hollo, 95, was recognized at Florida International University’s (FIU) second annual React 2022 Conference with its Lifetime Achievement Award. FECR’s Co-CEOs Jerome and Wayne Hollo, and COO Austin Hollo, accepted the award on his behalf.
“Tibor Hollo is considered the architect of modern Miami and has made his mark by advocating and developing innovative real estate projects,” said Eli Beracha,” Director, Tibor and Sheila Hollo School of Real Estate Hollo Research Fellowship. “He and Sheila are also responsible for the creation and development of what has become the No. 1 Master of Science in International Real Estate (MSIRE) program in the nation. We can’t thank them enough.”
The naming of the Tibor and Sheila Hollo School of Real Estate was officially announced on September 21, 2012.
“I am grateful that FIU embraces this challenge in its graduate real estate program, and I am proud of what it has accomplished in just a decade,” said Tibor Hollo. “It is rewarding to see how this internationally recognized program is producing our future leaders in this profession.”
Throughout the day-long conference, industry insiders and experts, including Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, discussed topics that included the relationship between technology and the real estate industry; the past, present and future of Miami; and how academia is preparing the next generation of leading-edge investors. Also covered were the impacts of blockchain, securitization, tokenization, the metaverse and other technology trends currently revolutionizing the real estate, hospitality and property sectors.
Themed “Miami: A Real Estate and Technology Powerhouse,” the conference was held at the FIU Graham Center at FIU’s Main Campus.
