The Future of Faena District

Although it may not appear so given the slate of soaring high-rise towers changing the South Florida residential skyline, good things occasionally do come in smaller projects—at least in Miami’s thriving Faena District.

Twenty-Nine Indian Creek

Twenty-Nine Indian Creek, breaking ground this spring, promises only seven stories of sophisticated living. But what it lacks in height it more than makes for in a luxury vision that preserves the past and looks to the future. Expect eight three-bedroom residences, one mammoth full-floor penthouse and a slice of local history—a 1930s-era building that JMH Development will restore and relocate, creating two more townhomes with design that honors its Art Deco origin.

Layouts will capitalize on the building’s footprint overlooking downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay with floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious terraces. Interior highlights include gourmet chef’s kitchens with custom cabinetry and marble countertops, as well as spa-inspired bathrooms that boast freestanding soaking tubs.

Urban Robot Associates will bring the architecture, interiors and landscaping to life—with sales being handled by One Sotheby’s International Realty. Residences start at 1,750 square feet (the largest layout encompasses 4,800 square feet) with prices ranging from $2.5 million to $10 million.

Twenty-Nine Indian Creek

“There is nothing else like [this project] in the area,” says Daniel de la Vega, president of One Sotheby’s. “Twenty-Nine Indian Creek presents a rare opportunity to own a home of this caliber just steps from the beach, with the ideal combination of privacy and access.”

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.
