Fun fact: I can crush anyone in the gym when it comes to weight lifting!

What is your favorite South Florida dining destination? Tarantella and Seaspice are some of my go-to places!

What do you like to do on weekends? On the weekends, I love to spend time with my family, play sports, go fishing, and spend time boating.

How do you unwind from a long day at work? I am strongly committed to my faith, family, and community. After a long day of work creating new and innovative products at Bang Energy, I likes to unwind by spending time with my family. I am also passionate about working out and use time at the gym to help me stay focused.

What is your favorite quote? “We don’t make people want our products; we make products people want.”

From whom, or what, do you draw inspiration? Family, faith, and the amazing Bang Energy staff all inspire me every day. What makes me unstoppable is that I’m backed by over two thousand individuals that work with us and that are world-class individuals.

What has been the biggest accomplishment of your career? Some of the biggest accomplishments of my career include overtaking the number three spot in the energy drink market; eclipsing over $1 billion in annual sales; becoming one of the world’s largest energy drink companies in terms of size, real estate footprint, and world-class manufacturing operations; and establishing Bang Energy as a top global brand on social media, with over 1 billion combined followers on Instagram alone.

What has been the most challenging moment in your career and how did you overcome it?Bang Energy’s humble existence began with me sleeping on an air mattress on the floor of a smal store to pursue my destiny and dreams. Initially operating in 350 sqaure feet, Bang Energy now occupies over 2.6 million square feet of real estate globally due to my relentless passion and drive.

What advice would you give an up and coming professional? My objective from the very beginning was to intentionally help others instinctively knowing that the more people we helped, the more successful and prosperous Bang Energy would become. There is no easy way of getting to the top in any industry and it takes many years of learning and experience. Even then, you’ll be knocked down before you can actually stay on top. Try and make your brand appeal to various demographics because here at Bang Energy instead of making people want our products, we make products people want!

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
