Brightline has temporarily suspended its rail passenger service until the pandemic subsides.
Meanwhile, there was no information on the Tri-Rail website suggesting it would suspend or change service.
Privately owned Brightline will issue all guests a full refund within 30 days for all passes and tickets purchased for future dates, a press release said. Automatic renewals will be suspended beginning in April.
The press release indicated it was unclear when service might resume, but it will take several months for normal business to be restored.
“We continue to receive guidance from state and government agencies that South Florida will continue to impose lockdowns of non-essential businesses for a lengthy and indefinite period of time,” Brightline stated. “It is for this reason that we have decided to temporarily suspend service until this situation subsides, and it becomes feasible for us to service the community again.
The passenger service said to follow its social media or check GoBrightline.com for future announcements. Those with questions may email [email protected].
